The great man theory became popular around the 1840's by Thomas Carrlyle and Hubert Spencer made a counter-argument in the 1960's, which remained throughout the 20th century. The theory is called "Great men" but doesn't exactly mean that they all were good and it doesn't exactly mean that they were all men. The Great men theory is mostly focused about the fact of people who created historical events with their own decisions and orders. Hitler is an example of a "Great man". Not in the term that he was a good guy because we all know that that isn't true. He would just be known as a "Great man" due to the fact that he has created a historical event by the orders and promises that he made. He was a main cause of WWII, which was a historical event, which is why he is known as a "Great man". Hubert said "that such great men are the products of their societies, and that their actions would be impossible without the social conditions built before their lifetime." Another example of "Great man" would be Abraham Lincoln. He's a great man in both ways. Him ending slavery and making a historical event. The list of great men goes on and it will continue to grow rather if the person is going to be a good guy or a bad guy.

I asked my dad what he knows about "The Great man theory" at first, he didn't even know what that was so I refreshed his memory a bit by giving him a brief description and an example. My aunt was there as well and she understood what the "great man theory" was and she knew when I used Hitler as an example of a "great man" because I wanted to make sure that I wasn't saying "great man" as like they had to be a hero. My aunt started listing other "great men" even ones I never heard of. There's a huge list of "Great men" and it's just going to keep growing.

1) One thing I’m proud of is that I was able to make this into an article instead of a research paper. I didn’t think I was going to be able to do so because I was having trouble find character(s) for the article. Luckily I was able to, though I had to change my topic from Childhood to Adulthood, but that wasn’t a problem. I’m also proud that my article might open some eyes to people who pay for medication and they will agree that the cost is way too high for the sick and the poor.

2) I learned that the more information you put into your outline, the easier it is to start writing the paper. Also learning about the writing tip: What is your Engine? Was helped me understand that putting questions or “invisible” question can help the story out. “The engine drives you through the questions.” And the writing tip: Write to an ending was helpful because I was having trouble ending the article and the list of endings gave me an idea on how to end it.

3) I would tried to add more characters, maybe look for people who has been having trouble paying for the medication since one of my main conflict is the medication being too high price. Or look for another person who has been sicker after taking MS medication instead of just having the 46 year old woman who had only a few months to live after taking one of the medications for MS.

4) It hasn’t that much affected me since I’m quite use to the publishing. But it has changed me still. I’ve always wanted to make sure that the final paper I turned in is my best work, even if I have to go through many drafts just to get to my final paper. Because I want people who might buy the book read what I wrote instead of finding one mistake and spends their time just skimming through my paper, looking for more mistakes instead of reading. And I also don’t want other papers to look bad because mine is. That is why I make sure that I get as many critiques I need just to make my final paper the best I’ve done.

My character, Joel A. Harrison's main goal is to get Universal Healthcare into use. So people can save money eaiser because they would be paying through tax dollars. I want to explain to people how it'll do that and how it's more better to use universal healthcare because it'll save people money. Just try to hypnotize them with numbers. i'm working with my senetor Livy (forgot her character's name) and we're going to try our best to get the universal healthcare to pass through with flying colors.

This impacts my topic on MS treatment because when health care is too expensive, the medience gets expensive to. And when medience is too expensive, people can't affored the treatment they need for themselves or for their kids. From what someone say, they say that the treatment costs about $510 a month, sounds like a lot for one treatment. Link Multiple sclerosis treatment, Interferon-Beta is going to cost a lot of money, but some people who have kids with MS don't have enough money to get the treatment. That's why I don't think it should be that expensive. It's not about the doctors getting paid or anything like that, it's about if the one who are ill are able to affroid the help they need.

Like I said up top, it should be lowered down. For the patieons at least. "Rather than ruining the new year by dwelling on Medicare's unfunded liabilities of about $34 trillion (over a 75-year span), ruin it with this fact: In the next 50 years, Medicaid, the program for the poor -- broadly, sometimes very broadly defined -- could become a bigger threat than Medicare to the nation's prosperity. ""sometimes as high as income under 200 percent of the federal poverty level. And many states, eager to expand the ranks of the dependent with the help of federal Medicaid money, use "income disregards" to make poverty an elastic concept."

Since my topic is Multiple sclerosis treatment, Interferon-Beta is going to cost money. A lot of money, but some people who have kids with MS don't have enough money to get the treatment. I think that health care should be a right or a at least be less. Then again, I know that the doctors who spend their time going to school to help us and it won't be fair if they're treating us for free and they get nothing out of it, so I do think that it should at least be lower, because going back to my topic, the medicine is pretty expensive and not everyone can pay for it. The a high chance of a kid or a person having MS, than someone being able to pay for the treatment.

Just like how I explained at the top, I now quite undecided after thinking more about it and hearing from others about how they feel. I say that I'm more in the middle, saying that it should have a cost, but little amount though. Don't see why it has to be so pricey. People are too afraid to go to hospitals because that don't want to be in dept. The sometimes rather be in pain more than in dept if anything. That's what it seems like to me. And I read an article awhile a go and read about a guy would paid for the medication for MS but it failed to work and the company didn't give them a refund. He wasted a lot of money on fail medication, which I think is horrible. If it wasn't so pricey, would he still be asking for a refund. I just don't think that health care should be free "People no more have a right to health care than they have a right to education, food, or clothing."

Other quotes the sounded good:

"
As soon as I got close enough to see that the skin on his hands and legs was bubbled over and charred, I realized that it was, indeed, bad enough to need a visit.

My second thought was, "But how will I pay for it?"

"At a time when 60 million people, including many with insurance, do not have access to a medical home, more than 18,000 Americans die every year from preventable illnesses because they do not get to the doctor when they should."

Describe the types of health care problems Americans face, and the government's role in seeking solutions.

Some of the problems Americans are facing is paying for prescription drugs because they just cost too much. It says in 2007, 1 in 7 Americans under the age of 65 didn't get any refills in their prescription drugs because the couldn't afford it. It risen through out the year from 2003 to 2007. 10.3% in 2003 and 13.9% in 2007 went without prescribed medication. Another problem is that "some 47 million U.S. residents have no health insurance and the number is just going to keep growing." And 8.7 million are kids."Working families are experiencing double-digit increases in the costs of health insurance, more out-of-pocket costs for doctor visits and skyrocketing prices for prescriptions, forcing many to delay getting needed medical care or worse—to decline coverage for themselves or their families because of cost." 32.5 million seniors and people with disabilities have to pay higher premiums and other Medicare cost.
"Forced 32.5 million seniors and people with disabilities to pay higher premiums and other Medicare costs.Dropped coverage for out-of-pocket expenses between $2,250 and $5,100. Prevented the federal government from negotiating lower drug costs and does nothing to rein in soaring prescription drug prices. Threatened the employer-provided drug benefits of millions of retirees." There's a systems that the U.S. wants to try to fix the health care problem but the feel that the system they're gonna use is going to leave too many working families uninsured. Obama's plan is to just lower the cost of health care for families, bushiness, and the government .

Here are some links:

1) What makes a compelling character is if they:
-have multiple wants
- "strong" wants
- uses powerful language
-irony
-relates to something
-has layers
-challenges the leader
-has a detailed background and etc.
for example, Chrissy Falletti in the story "Open Channels". She gives off good amount of information about her self so that the reader can picture who she is and what she might look like.

2) What makes an interesting plot is that if it hooks in the reader and makes them want to read the story. If it starts off strong and ends strong, concerts not pancakes. Even if it leaves the reader with questions like "I wonder what happened to her" "Or what happens next". In the story "Open Channels" here's the starting part "In 1975, Chrissy Falletti was born. She Seemed healthy at birth but then rapidly started losing weight. She was taken to the hospital and diagnosed with cystic fibrosis."

3)

4) They authors uses real life problems, events, and situations that they feel others been through or might go through some time in their lives. It's one of the best ways authors can get the readers to connect because they can relate to what's going with the character in the story and feel how they feel to because they're going through the same thing.

1) I'm planning on doing the stage of childhood and focus around multiple sclerosis treatment. The one I'm going be focusing on is Interferon-beta. Like how much it cost, or if it's paid through insurance. If it costs too much, will only the rich be able to cure their child? What about the not so rich people? What can they do for their kid. What company sells them and which ones makes them. Interferon-Beta

2) "The government plans to make interferon beta and glatiramer available to patients with multiple sclerosis through a risk sharing scheme, despite lack of evidence of cost effectiveness. Sudlow and colleagues argue that the money would be better spent on independent research"
From this, it seems like the government is trying to take the easy way out so they can use the money on "more important research" but the way they want to do it sounds risky.here

3) The drug, Interferon-beta is rather expensive. There was an incident where a person paid the money for the drug, yet instead it didn't do any effect, meaning that the drug failed. The company was requirement to reduce the price, yet they never did."the drug companies would have had to pay the NHS to use them to make them cost effective." here
Back to the expensiveness of the drug, at the beginning, the drug was around $10,000 per patient a year, but since it became a bit more expensive, $25,000 up to $60,000 or more! How are people with low money pay for it when their child is in need of medicine?here

The work place I'm looking towards is with animals, rather if it's domestic animals, exotic animals, or mixed animals. It doesn't matter to me if I'm just walking the dogs, or feeding the cats, or changing the guinea pigs cage. I just want to work with animals. I want to be a veterinarian so I hope I can do some jobs like preparing and giving shots to the animals, get their temperatures. I know that I should start out slow with the easy like jobs before jumping into the more difficult ones, that's why I listed some of the easy jobs. I just want to work with animals.

Most of the activities I picture myself doing is something like playing and interacting with the animals, walking the dogs and cleaning their messes. Helping new animals that come in feel comfortable being at the place. Basically the activities that help the animals out mentally and emotionally. Especially the ones that are really scared, I will be helping out get at least a little more comfortable. I think I'll be using my interacting skills more often, get to know the animal better, what the been through, and what might be wrong with them.

I'm hoping to learn how to help animals out not just physically. I want to hear about the animal's story, what they been through that brought them there. More importantly, I want to learn about the different types of medicine they use on the animals. How much the should give them, what will be know as a daily shot for animals and what is know to be a more critical shot for them cause something is wrong. I want to know the type of strategy and techniques they use to help an animal feel comfortable about being away from the home they came from or the street the we're traveling. I want to learn the best way to help an animal, rather if it's mentally, physically, or emotionally.

I read about the article of the judge imposing a ban on the "Don't ask, don't tell" policy on gays in the military. I personally don't see how having gays in the military is a problem. It's not like they're planning an attack on the military they're in or it's not like they are hitting on every guy/girl that's in their military. They're human people! They should be allowed to be open and not hide who they truly are inside because of some policy. I choose to do this article because I say that gays should have every right as any straight person and also because I have a family member who's in the Navy. I agree that this policy should be banned because who are they to say that gays aren't allowed to be opened? link this is the same thing but is a little more in depth on when they were planning on enforcing the ban. As it says that they are planning on doing the banned after the National Coming Out Day. I hope that this ban get's applied so that gays can finally be free and open without having to worry about being fired.

To me, I felt that Michael was like a fuse to a unknown bomb and was his death accrue, the "bomb" exploded. Causing a huge problem with different race. Since a black guy killed a white guy, both race saw the race saw the killing in different prospectives. The boy how shot Michael, Freddie Morrow was already having a bad day to being with, I bet that Freddie would have shot anyone but seeing that flag was just enough to sent Freddie to the boiling point. "Just before Christmas, Freddie got into a fight after being taunted during a school assembly. Freddie was suspended, then told by school officials that he'd missed so much class time that he'd flunk for the second year running. It was during this suspension that he shot Michael Westerman." That line tells me that he was already fired up, and since he always takes his gun out on M.L.K's birthday, all he needed was an accuse to use it, which was Michael's flag. Michael happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. No one in this story would ever know why Michael had the flag because everyone has different reasons to why he had the flag up in the first place. "Michael died because of his "beliefs and his constitutional rights'" Michael's father, David said, but his girlfriend/wife Hannah said "He'd do anything to make his truck look sharp. The truck's red. The flag's red. They match." And lastly Brenda Arms said "Michael's personal reason for flying the Confederate flag was to show the pride he felt in his ancestors who fought and died for the flag, as well as to show his Southern heritage." Everyone who is agaisnt Freddie is trying to make up a reason for the flag on the truck, but most don't want to believe that the shooting was more of a random attack. Both sides actually don't know why they're fighting, they're just trying to make up a reason, using the Confederate flag as the base.

At the begging, it explains how people today are still arguing about what really caused the Civil war. "What caused the American Civil War? It is amazing that even today, nearly 150 years after the Civil War started, there is passionate debate regarding the "cause" of the Civil War." It's obvious that our thoughts about the war and slavery has changed since early nineteenth century because in the article, it said: "Today we recognize slavery as a moral issue. But in the early nineteenth century, it was seen as an economic issue first, moral issue second." Today, there are a lot of arguments between two sides who have opposite believes. Just like in the Civil war, by the 2 side argument about slavery, the Civil war started. Because there were people who either was fighting for slavery or against it. "It is a fact that when the armies for the North and South were first formed, only a small minority of the soldiers on either side would have declared that the reason they joined the army was to fight either "for" or "against" slavery." I believe I remember seeing majority of African Americans in Georgia, at least in the area I was at. I can't remember a lot since the last time I went was when I was 8 years old. Could that possibly be the effect from a war that happened 149 years ago?

http://www.dispatch.com/live/content/local_news/stories/2010/09/16/ohio-salmon.html This article talks about how farms wants to raise genetically modified fish if the get the FDA's apporval. The fish will be kept in indoor tanks so they won't effect the wild life. Raising fish would make them grow faster than usual. The Environmental Protection Agency and Division of Wildlife has a problem with it because they fear that it could kill wildlife in the Ohio's rivers. " The biggest barrier is the seawater that salmon grow in, he said. A release could kill wildlife in Ohio's freshwater streams and lakes, and regulators will have to decide whether that risk is acceptable." It's quite obvious that this is relavent to the FDA because it's up to them to say rather they want the farms to raise the fish, or if it's just a risk factor. I somewhat find it disgusting because it sounds like people will be eating frozen vegitables. And what I mean by that is that frozen or caned vegitables always taste fake. The carrots and corn don't taste what they're suppose to taste like and the corn aren't crunchy. Others see this as a good idea. They don't have to wait till season to get their favorite fish. "I would have no problem eating it and serving it to my family," Tiu said.

1) The writing tips stood out to me because it either showed me a new way of how to write or it helped me get a better understanding of something I already knew before. Like on tip #6 where it explains about taking it easy on ings when writing because I didn't know that adding ings could weaken the words and instead I should use more past or present words.
2) Going over something things like homework. For instincts, today we went over last nights homework and I didn't understood it that well because I didn't understand what James Madison was sometimes saying. But after going over it as a class, it made more sense to me.
3) When a topic comes up that we disgusted as a class or that I read about while doing homework, I should ask more questions about it. Get a better understanding of what was happening in whatever I was reading or listening to. I did that in 10th where for the first time I heard about how there were cameras and megaphones all around London streets that were watching over people. I found that really interesting, so I decided to do my mini project on it. If I expand on what I know from just reading a part, then I could learn more about the world, issues, or other places that I didn't even know was having a problem.
4) It's as simple as listening to what the teacher is saying, try to understand the confusing things towards me and if I can't, ask questions about it until I get an answer that'll make the work more understandable. Use more writing tips in the upcoming writing projects that might come in the future, so I could see how it makes my writing better.
5) I don't have much of a goal for the following week. I'm planning on learning something new that I didn't know before. Learning more writing tips that can help me make my writing even better. More hands on creative projects that are going to come.

Artist Statement: “So Dee, what do you want to be when you grow up?” “I want to be a Veterinarian!” As long as I could remember, I’ve always wanted to be a veterinarian and help out animals in dire need. Being a vet is the job that’ll fit me because I love animals, mainly dogs and I want to help them out as much as possible. I’m hoping to get into UC Davis after high school. I heard that it’s a great college to study in Veterinary Medicine. Dogs are what made me want to be a vet. My first dog was a female Pomeranian named Nakia. She was my favorite pet. I wanted to walk her, but I was too young. I would just put the leash on her and walk her around the house.
When I was older, I got another dog. He was a Jack Russell named Niko. Being a Jack Russell, he liked to run around. I was relaxing on my bed, when all of the sudden, I heard this somewhat disordered yelp from outside. I looked to see my dog Niko, limping back to the patio. I dashed out of my room yelling "Niko's hurt!" "Niko's hurt!" No one else heard the yelp, so they were a bit confused about what was going on. I flung the back sliding door open and Niko limped in. As he was limping, I noticed something; he was tracking in blood from his paw. I was worried when I saw that because I didn't realize how serious it was. I got a wet paper towel and clean the blood from his paw. I noticed a cut on the pad of his paw. I was relief to find out that it wasn't a big gash. My mom took him to the vet to get it stitched up. I remembered how no one else heard the yelp. I question myself, what if I didn't hear it either? Who knows how long he would have gone with a bleeding pad? When my mom got back, Niko was tired out. I comfort him till he fell asleep. That whole experience made me want to be a vet even more. I just love to help animals. They're like furry people who can't talk.
From hearing what others said about UC Davis, how it’s a good college to look into since I want to study in Veterinary Medicine. I'm hoping that I'll be able to get in there. 11th grade is what I was mainly looking forward to when I got into high school because it teaches Biology, which is something I need to know to become a vet. Also there will be internship and I've been looking forward to it because I've want to get a head start of what the vet life would be like.

I say the fact that I was able to share out my dream of wanting to become a vet and others get to read about it and how it possibly started. I liked how I was able to choose something that wasn't human or wasn't alive because I was able to make a college that I'm working to get into as my American icon. I also like how others are able to choose someone/something that didn't make such a major difference in America, which is how I was able to choose a college, UC Davis. I say that Using action verbs is a helpful writing tips to use. Using action verbs makes the writing more exciting, for example instead of putting "The monkey climb the tree to get to the bananas" you'll put "The monkey climbed the tree to get to the bananas."
It was hard to fit everything into only one page because I had a lot to write about, yet I was only allowed to put in a certain amount. It was difficult to shorten everything I was trying to get out in one page and fit the requirements. I think that the M.M.E (make meaning early) was quite difficult for me to use in the artist statement. When I read over my paper, it didn't see any paragraph where I used M.M.E.
"James Herriot, known as James Alfred Wright was born on October 3, 1916 in England. When he was 23 in 1939, he qualified as a veterinary surgeon and in 1940; he took a small job at a veterinary practice. He soon then wrote 8 famous books about vets and animals. Sadly he died in February 1995." I was wondering if, should add more to this part? If so, how? Explain more about him being a vet? about his practice?

For my opening, I was planning on doing a small conversation between my mom and I when I was young. "So Dee, what do you want to be when you grow up?" "A Veterinarian!" and the end I put: I've always wanted to get a head start of what the vet life would be like. I'm not so sure about that, I'll put more thought into the ending of the artist statement. These two ties together because my big idea is me wanting to be a Veterinarian, the beginning mainly says it all with the conversation and the ending (might be changed) tells how I want to start being a vet earlier. When the readers are done reading my artist statement, I want them to be able to know how long I've always wanted to be a vet, the things I do to try and get to my goal, and how this dream possibly started. I want the readers to see that this isn't just a kid dream that I'm later going to change because I realize I don't want to do that any more. Hopefully they'll be able to see what I see when I think about wanting to be a Vet.

I said that my dog Nakia and UC Davis connects with each other because in my artist statement, I tell how my first dog, Nakia, was probably the inspiration of me wanting to be a vet and me wanting to try and get to a good college. I like dogs and I want to help them just like how I want to help other pets. I don't think that she was my only inspiration, I also think that my two cats were also an inspiration, but I think that Nakia was my main one. Since Nakia was my first dog, she's really important to me and dogs are also my favorite animal. UC Davis is important to me because that's the college that I've been working 11 years to get into. If I get into the college, I'll be able to continue to move forward. I planning on asking my mom about my dog Nakia, like if she remembered how I reacted when I first saw her and was I always near her. For UC Davis, I possibly read more about it on it's website or ask some people who knows about the place like possibly some Seniors who are planning on going there or some teachers.

Who and what did this Icon inspire?
Vet colleges inspired me to pass high school with nice grades, so I’ll be able to attend a college that teaches veterinary. Once I’m able to learn everything I need to know, I’ll be able to be a vet if I learned well enough. Vet colleges are where the main learning for vet starts. If I didn’t attend to one, how will I be able to get my degrees? I wouldn’t even understand what I’m suppose to do when a pet is sick or injured.

How did this Icon become important to you?
Ever since I can remember, I’ve always wanted to become a vet because I want to help the sick pets. I know how pets bring joy to people’s lives, so if I cure the pet, I’m actually helping out two things. The pet and the owner. Dogs are my favorite animals, which is what made me what to become a vet. I want to help the sick and injured dogs and all the others pets. Who doesn’t want to help their favorite thing? A vet college is important to me because one day I want to be able to attend to one, learn everything I should know about being a vet, then be able to start my dream and help animals live long and health lives with their owners.

How did this Icon become important in American culture?
Vet colleges helped other dreams become vets. More vets mean more healthy pets to look forward to and healthy pets mean happy owners. Vets are just like any doctor or dentist. Doctors help sick and injured people, while dentist helps people’s teeth. They all help in different ways, rather if it’s you personally or something that is personal to you. That’s why I see vets important to America and other places around the world. Without vets, there’ll be less pets.

How did this Icon become important to you?

My dad, being in the Navy made this important to me. Even though I believe he doesn't go into war or fight like the army, I still see his job to be important. I don't want to be in the navy when I get older nor can I because of my feet, but I like how my dad is in the Navy and making a difference in the U.S even if the difference is very minor. Mostly everything I see around my house has to do about The Navy, which always reminds me of my dad. Who is important to me, so Navy became important to me to.

Who and what did this Icon inspire?

I believe this inspires anyone who wants to make a difference in anyway. For anyone who wants to fight, but not physically. For anyone who doesn't want to attend college, but doesn't want to end up working for a fast food restaurant. I see the navy inspiring any young adult or adult who are not quite sure what they should do for a living. I don't think anyone in my family is planning on joining. This inspired me to see that not all differences in the world are major or even noticed at times. It could be as simple as recruiting or just fixing small problems on the ship. When recruiting, you helping someone help the world.

How did this Icon become important in American culture?

The navy is important because they
protect the seas and delivers important items and people to certain places. The navy seems like they're helping others help the U.S, so in a way, they're are important to the American culture. The navy does most of the protection of the sea and most of the transportation of items and people. Without the navy, other military forces won't get the important items they need to protect and without the navy's protection, we could easily be attack.

How did this Icon become important to you?

My dad has always been important to me and my family. He taught me things that I can/do use in the world like how to fix a computer or how to drive. I know that he cares about the family by the things he does and how he shows it. I bet he's not only important to my family, but also to his navy workers and his brothers and sisters.

Who and what did this Icon inspire?

Seeing how my dad is inspires me to be a great parent when I get older. He also inspires me to hopefully find a guy like him who is caring and loving too. I believe he inspired my brothers too to become a good father when the time comes and to love and care for their families. I could see him inspiring the rookies at his job to try and get to Senior chef like he's at.

Create your own question

I tend to wonder how well known my dad is since he's in the navy, if he's known, is he important to others in the world? Are my brothers going to be great dads like him? Did he inspire others to join the navy? To do their best at everything? I usually wonder what goes on when my dad is out to sea. Does little kids around the world see him at work and want to join when the grow up? I wonder how important he is to others as he is to me.

1) I hope that I’ll be able to do well at math because I haven’t been doing a good job at it in 10th grade. Not sure if it’ll use it outside of class in the future but I still want to get better at it so I can get a good grade and pass the 11th grade. I also hope to understand Biology because I want to become a vet when I get older and knowing Biology is part of being a vet.
2) In Humanities, I hope to learn something that I didn’t know before like how in 10th grade, I somewhat learned about how London has cameras in the streets, which caught my interest because I did my mini project on it. I want to learn something that I never knew was happening in other places of the world. Or I’ll like to learn how the past is different from the present and if it’s a good thing or not. I hope that I’ll be able to learn something that’ll help me understand the world better and help me get up to date on what’s going on so far and what happened before.
3) Something I do well on is drawing. I got into it in 2006 and it became a hobby for me. Even though I started out drawing on paper and I wasn’t that good, I still kept trying. Later, I got into digital drawing but the only program I could use was MS paint, but that didn’t stop me either. When I got to the point where I want to post my art for others to see, I was quite surprise to see how many people liked it. I got a better drawing program and I was bad at the start but later on I got better. Now it’s 2010 and I think I’m pretty good at drawing, yet I’m still going to practice at being better. I always liked to doodle or draw out things, but I started to draw more certain things. Things that caught my interest. I have always had the talent to draw but I just never expand my talent and showed it off to the world. I do that today because I want people to see what I can do and get good feedback from my friends, family, or even strangers on what I should improve on.
